Whats' the answer to this riddle?
Sense most of you were about to say yes if I didn't mention slavery, but no if I did you start saying that God only thought it was moral and right to have slaves in those days. Many of you say that the bible doesn't support slavery but it just teaches us how to own slaves in those days. Sense slavery is morally wrong and people in those days had slaves, do you think that if people in those days killed eachother the bible would say HOW to kill eachother instead of saying don't do it at all? Why is it that the bible would say how to do something wrong only because alot of people did it instead of saying don't do it at all? You always say the bible is the word of God and when someone speaks of verses that sound really wrong, you always pull out the "that doesn't apply anymore excuse."

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. For the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life and the lust of the eyes in not of the Father, but of the world. The world passes away and the lust thereof, but the word of God stands FOREVER. I John 2:15-17.

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom. If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him. If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master. But the slave may plainly declare, 'I love my master, my wife, and my children. I would rather not go free.' If he does this, his master must present him before God. Then his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will belong to his master forever. (Exodus 21:2-6 NLT)

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

(Luke 12:47-48 NLT)
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. "But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given." (Luke 12:47-48 NLT)

Whether they had slaves 2,000 years ago or 2 millions years ago, the fact that they supported slavery and treated humans unfairly like that is evil either way, so what makes you think that excuse actually makes sense?Unsolved miseries,

WTF does that have to do with my question or the bible?

Christians, is slavery right sense you say the whole bible is the word of God?
we listened to it in school and now i can't remember the name. I do not remember many of the lyrics. I do however remember one part that said, "she held up and picture and said he would have been three today".
The music video is about a mother who lost her son. It then shows a young boy with a father who is a drunk. The police come and the boy is taken away. The mother who lost her son then goes and adapts the child who was taken away from his dad.
thanks for the help!

My six month old has diarrhea......?
I recently had a dream where my three year old son, his father (he and I are not together) and myself were in a car speeding around a corner and I told my son's father to slow down - we were in an accident. I was ejected out of the passenger window and thrown onto another vehicle. I got up immediately not hurt and saw my car flipped over. I ran to the driver window and saw my son sitting up scraped up but fine. My son's father was lying there bloody and not moving. I remember yelling his name and pulling him out of the car. Then I awoke...... One, I would like to know why I was ejected and absolutely fine. Two, I would like to know why I pulled my son's father out first before him even though my son was okay, that disturbs me. Three, Why didn't my son's father "come-to"? What does all of this mean? About six years ago my son's father and I witnessed two of our good friends die in a car accident the both of us should have and would have been in... My son's father and I have not been together for since my son was born. We don't speak and have both moved on......HELP!!!

Can someone help me with this disturbing dream??!!?
We have an English assignment where we have to write a short story (like 1-2 paragraphs) and it is about a conflict that you have had with a person, however, you have to write it in the point of view of the other person. Can you please edit it and tell me what I should add/take out. Thanks in advance!

Today was the most horrible day. I had a very tough time at work today, which is not so different from any other day. On my way home, my daughter called to ask me if I could pick her up after school and I said I would. When I got there, half an hour later, I had called her to let her know I was there to pick her up, but she didn’t answer. When she didn’t come to the car five minutes later I tried calling her again, but, still no response. I had called her five more times and sent her three text messages telling her I was outside waiting for her. Finally, over half an hour later, she came out to the car.
“Hi mom,” she said smiling.
“Where have you been!? I have been waiting for you for thirty minutes!” I said, enraged.
“I was inside the school, waiting for you to call me to let me know you were here. How come you didn’t call?”
“I DID! More than once! I even sent you three messages! What were you doing!?”
“I didn’t get any messages, and my phone didn’t ring at all. Here, look,”
She showed me her cell phone but I didn’t care. She kept me waiting for so long and I was exhausted, so all I wanted to do was go home. She should have checked to see if I was here when I didn’t call her when it was getting late. I doubt that she didn’t get my calls. I couldn’t keep it in. I was angry with her and she knew it!
And to make matters worse, my son text messaged me after wards and the text said:
“Hey mom, I lost my combination lock on my locker. What do I do?”
It looks like my day is complete. Now I have to deal with one irresponsible daughter and one son who can’t solve his own problems. All that’s left is to think of what we will have for dinner.

Please Help Me Edit My Short Story!?

Sorry, I know we all hate these questions, but I'd love input. I've had a debilitating case of writer's block for the past month, but I've finally happened upon a story in my head that I do like, a feminist dystopian novel. I'm sorry if this is going to be really long...

The premise: Project yourself 200 years in the future. As a result of the Conclusion (the last nuclear war in 2048), most people have been wiped off the face of the earth. The world is still radioactive, and so after the Conclusion, a group of politicians, scientists, and select citizens got together to create an underground city, called the City of Home, made mostly of steel that is now rusty and patched together. Also, the radiation affected births: now, there is a new gender. Usually females have XX, males have XY...but the new gender has YY, and they're called dimales. They're the shortest of all genders, have the deepest voices and the widest hips, but no breasts. Their sexual organ is a tube outside the body, and since their natural mate is a male...well, you can figure out how they would reproduce. Females, on the other hand, are all sterile. They're viewed as little more than animals, and the only careers they can have are prostitutes or in the fighting pits, which are basically like dog fighting pits except for humans. Dimales and males go to bet on and watch females fight in the pits, or else they go to the "chick slums", where the prostitution houses are (the fighting pits are also located in the chick slums). Both genders go the the chick slums for a fun night out, and though it's thought of as immature and wrong (like strip clubs are today), a lot of people, particularly 20-30 year olds, do it. When a dimale gives birth to a female, shi simply drops the kid off in the chick slums (and yes, dimales are called 'shi' and 'hir' instead of he/she or him/her). There's not much crime in Home, except against females (who are commonly raped, but that's not considered a crime).

Enter main character, Melinda Byrd, a female around 18 with a 4-year old sister named Honey (short for Honora) who means everything to her. Melinda's not really pretty enough to be a prostitute, but she's fast and smart, so she's a fighter in the pits. However, one day she's passing by the Hinterland Regions, which surround the city of Home and are essentially a wasteland, and a grimy man stumbles out. He's a bit insane, but he blabbers about "above", and Melinda realizes there must be a way out of Home. She starts trying to venture into the Hinterland Regions, but one day comes across a man. While fighting with him, she realizes he's Jasper Rand, one of the sons of the Father, who governs Home. Unexpectedly, when they hear voices, he lets her escape, though technically she should be executed for being out there (he isn't supposed to be out there, either, because it's illegal, though he would only be chastised for it). She comes across him several more times and they strike a tenuous bargain; neither will report the other, and once or twice they even save each other when the wild dogs that roam the Regions attack. One day, though, Melinda gets caught, and she's sentenced to either death, or life as a Venturer. She doesn't know what that is, but rather than death, she chooses it. Turns out, there IS a way out of Home that only a few people know about. The earth above is no longer radioactive, but they prefer to stay belowground so they have better control of the city. The Venturers are a small group of people sent above to hunt down and kill the few people who have escaped the city, because the city's afraid they'll return and recruit more people and they'll lose control. Being a Venturer is highly dangerous, though, so only criminals are sent to do it. Inexplicably, Jasper volunteers to be one, and it's revealed that he's fallen in love with Melinda, though this is unheard of (in Home, it's the equivalent of falling in love with a dog, or a rock, since females are barely thought of as human). He's unwilling to let her go aboveground unprotected, so he'll become a Venturer to protect her. Melinda has fallen in love with him, as well.

Eventually, though, Melinda will decide that the horrors of the city of Home are too great to live in, and that to protect Honey, she has to leave, not knowing what's out there, hoping to join up with the rebels who escaped Home. She doesn't tell Jasper, since life is good for him in the city, since he's a male, and she wants him to have a better chance than she does, living in the wild. She runs from the other Venturers. While she's out there, she finds the dead bodies of all the rebels; there are none left. Jasper finds her later, though, and together, the three of them escape. They end up, with the Venturers in close pursuit, at the edge of a body of water, which is the ocean. Jasper is killed, but Melinda fashions a boat out of driftwood, and she and Honey sail out into the open ocean, in the hopes of finding something mWell, I'm going to use both "shi" and "hir"...because shi will replace she, and hir will replace her.Brezzia: actually it's funny that you'd say that- with the vampire thing- because actually I'm not into the whole Twilight thing. I just like the name Jasper. :P

Please comment on my novel idea?
