this is what i ate today. is it bad?
I've been on a pretty strict diet, 1,200 to 1,500 calories a day. going to the gym six times a week.
Yesterday I ate 4 things, a plain turkey sandwich 150 cals.
Mexican gumbo (chicken) from qudoba mexican grill, 800 calories.....and my boyfriend convinced me to go to dairy queen....i ate a whole large cookie jar blizzard...i couldn't put the stupid thing down because it was soooo good..then i looked up the calories for it this morning..1,550 calories!!!
Would it be safe if I just didn't eat today? Or if I just ate 500 calories for the day.
I'm feeling so guilty because i've been working so hard at my diet and I completely bombed it yesterday.

I ate 2,850 calories yesterday..feeling really guilty?
this morning i ate some pistachios through out the whole day of school (8-12pm) and drank orange juice on the side (160 cal) and my friend bought me a cookie, not sure how much caloris but it was tim hortons Smile edition cookies. then when i got home i ate some stir fry chicken with veggies and little potatoes. im trying to avoid as much carbs as i can slowly each day. then i went and ate 5 cookies (2=150 cals, 7g fat) i waited like 4 hours when i got hungry i ate pistachios again.
for dinner i had 2 baked salmon fillets and some green leek on the side. then i crashed into apple juice and some more cookies, not sure how much cookies maybe around 4.

i woke up being 134, trying to lose about 20 pounds.... do u think ill gain weight tomorrow?

whats happening to my body now that ate those cookies right after dinner? (its 9pm now)

you guys did i ruin my diet?
My schedule is sort of weird, so I'm not sure that I'm eating properly.

I get up around 10 or 11

I can't stomach food right away, so around 1130/12 I have something like 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup rolled oats, medium banana and tsp cinnamon parfait style and another fruit like a plum or nectarine or some veggies like 1/2 cup green beans or carrots.

I then have class in the afternoon... sometimes 12-4 or 2-6 or something like that. Usually while I'm at school I'll grab a muffin or a oatmeal cookie and a coffee.

I get home after class and have a regular dinner - Always a carb, a protein, and a veggie, like a chicken veggie wrap or standard meat/veggie/potatoes or pasta.

Then I go to badminton practice at 7:30 and get home around midnight.

When I get home I snack on things like veggies or a sandwich

I go to bed around 2.

Does this sound reasonable? I never eat things like sauces or salad dressing, i don't drink soda, and I only have 1 serving or caffeine a day. Sometimes in the evening I snack on some popcorn or chocolate but I try not to. I drink about 12 glasses of water a day. When I get take-out I try to make it healthy and I almost never have anything deep-fried or greasy.

I'm 20, female, 5'8, 145lbs, a lot of muscle. A nutritionist suggested about 1950 calories a day for me based on my activity level.

Does this sound reasonable?I spoke to the nutritionist when I was working a normal 9-5 job but now I'm back at school so it's completely changed.@doggy lover.. yes I go to bed at 2, but I don't get up until 10 or 11 so I'm still getting 8 hours... My whole schedule is pushed back about 4 hours because my classes and practice are later in the day.@wullish I'm still getting 8 hours! I go to bed late and wake up late because badminton runs til midnight, and I have a small meal/snack after badminton

Does this sound like proper diet?
I'm 14, 4'11, 110.
So far I've been doing these exercises,
Weight training (12 pounds)
Cardio (elliptical, 20 mins)
Pilates

I've done them everyday.
My diet is OK.
I still eat like 1 cookie (sweet tooth?)
So how long will it be till I weight 92 lbs.
Just an estimate, like 5 months?I can't grow taller.
I've reached my max height.
My parents are short so I'm going to be short too.
:[

So...I want to weigh 92 lbs. How?
alright its 2 days away from homecoming and im on a diet but ithink i broke it but im not really sure.u see i leave my house at 6:30 today in the morning and what i ate for breakfast is one piece of hot dog and orange juice cuz i was in a hurry , then around 1 oclock ate a cookie one only and when i got home around 3 something i ate one hard boiled egg and two hotdog with one hot dog bun and then my dad came told me to eat with him out with my sis and i ordered grilled chicken salad and a water and by the way my height is 5/6 and my weight is 120 so do u think what i ate the whole day would make me fat.and ya i asked this question because i wanted to look good in my dress homecoming for my date!peace

i need information!can anybody be nice to answer!!in a nice way?
Ok for breakfast Coffee with 45 creamer gum later more cofee diet moutine dew a little 130 calorie healthy trail mix like nuts an rasines etc.......but then i ate maybe 200 cals for dinner an i am sorry i had a cookie :( 147 cals ;(i workout alot so a lot but my energy is up way up energy bunny up!!

KK help me out here ....did i eat to much (girls only)?
So, Monday - Friday I eat more because I am awake longer. My days are about 16 hours long and I consume about 800 - 1,000 calories. I walk fairly often through out the day, and when I get home, I do 30 minutes of cardio, then my daily exercise routine. (Some reps of weightlifting, crunches, etc.)

On weekends, I sleep more, so my days are about 12 hours long. I remain fairly busy, and eat about 700 - 800 calories a day. I do the 30 minutes of cardio and daily exercise routine on these days, too.

My diet consists of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, but minimal meat and dairy. I only drink water and fruit smoothies, and I eat only whenever I feel hungry, but always make sure to eat when I need to. But of course, I have an occasional slice of pie or cookie or ice cream. ;)

I know it is a good diet weight loss wise because I already lost seven pounds in a fairly short amount of time. But is this a good diet and exercise plan health-wise?P.S. I take a Vitamin C, Vitamin B and Vitamin E supplement daily.

Decent amount of calories consumed per-day/amount of exercise?

Two Sparrows in a Hurricane (Tanya Tucker)...Can you name a song with a weather phenomenon in the title?
If so, they are having a free preview of it all this month on channel 167.It's pretty damn amazing compared to CMT to have a music channel that actually plays music outside of a top 20 countdown. And their shows are ABOUT music such as Brooks And Dunn's Cowboy Town or Craig Morgans Back To Fort Braggs.Soundstage episodes,Grand Ole Opry..It's great! Sure,a lot of fluff too,but you will also see the occasional Porter Wagner,Tanya Tucker or Merle Haggard video pop up.CMT doesn't even acknowledge those people even existed!

(And no I don't work for them, and no I won't be paying money for the next tier for only one channel I like,lol..Just letting you know you should check it out seeing it's free this month)

Any Dish Network subscribers here that don't have GAC?

What is your favorite Tanya Tucker song?
Thanks.

Going back to high school I was expelled from for grad school project? Kinda nervous. Advice?
I was expelled from a high school in 11th grade back in 2001. I was suspended over the bullying law. To make a long story short, my friends had some beef with this dude, but I honestly didn't do anything to him. I always said your problems are yours and I won't fight your battles with or for you.

Anyways, I was called to guidance during the start of 5th period and was talking to the counselor about my 31 on the ACT and how I was wanting to go out of state to a school if I could get full paid. Whenever I came back and class ended, I headed into the hallway, I was about 5 feet out the door whenever this dude hit me in the back of my head. He had failed the year before and his senior ring cracked my skull a bit, I thought. I was bleeding. Whenever I hit the ground and was able to regain my composure I felt the back of my head and saw the blood as he was standing over me. I jumped up and threatened to kill the dude for doing that, knowing if you hit someone just right in the head, you can kill them. He had basically tried to kill me in my mind. I didn't care what I said. Some old, fat teachers tried to hold me back and got cursed out by me whenever they let dude run away and they weren't even worrying about doing anything to him. He ran off campus and all they were worried about was what I had "done." I was like, anyone would react that way after being sucker punched, right?

They tried to make an example of me. I knew why-Columbine had happened recently as other school shootings, so their plan was to sacrifice the straight-A kid to cover their *** if something else happened. They could say they took action beforehand to prevent it or whatever. I think I was picked and done that way because while I was in honor society and stuff, I wasn't preppy. I had a handful of piercings and my parents had signed for me to have tattoos (all being of Christian theme, though). They also knew since my father was a deadbeat that they wouldn't have big shot daddy suing them for it. I was a lower middle class kid who held two jobs at the time. I was the perfect target.

They didn't punish the dude or my friends for some reason. The expulsion cost me a chance at several full paid scholarships to big schools. I couldn't even get a scholarship after that because in my allowance to return, they banned me from all extracirrucular actvities/clubs so I never had a chance to really rehab or redeem myself. I transferred to another school-never to return there, but it was too late because colleges/universities look at you up to your junior year. Senior year is never the time to turn it around as I advise younger friends of mine.

I used to hold a grudge against that school for overreacting to what happened and taking it out on the wrong person.

Anyways, back to 2009. I am now a grad student in social work/counseling and I am doing an assessment of this area as assigned by my mentor. I am going to have to go to this same school to talk about the educational system in the district. I find it ironic and really wierd that of all people to go back and be doing this, it would be me. What should I do? I am kinda nervous because I think they will remember the kid I was at 17, not seeing me as the 23 yr old grad student I am now. I am still the same person, but I worry they will still have prejudice and discontent towards me, and possibly not help me/give me the interview. What do you think? Advice?

Going back to high school I was expelled from for grad school project? Kinda nervous Advice?
Ok, first I want to apologize for an intemperate remark I made in my last question. I called Biology "Junk Science" and frankly sometimes I say more then I should lol lol and OBVIOUSLY Biology is a very important and interesting branch of science. I'm actually in Chemistry 2 this semester and LOVE the class. I'm also in Calculus 2 and we are into Integration of algebraic functions and we will also study Differentiation of Transcendential and Trigonometric Functions later this semester. Ok, I'm also a military wife (my sweet and wonderful husband is serving in Iraq with Army Infantry) and a mommy of the best little boy in the entire world. My mom watches him for me while I'm in school though today I'm home with my darling. I saw my other darling over Thanksgiving because he had approximately 2 and 1/2 weeks of Leave and it was really hectic. Ever since we married after high school graduation I've been averaging about twice of year for a few weeks of seeing him and holding him. Most of the time we communicate by e-mail. Anyway last time I saw him in November-December it was too hectic to discuss any substantive issues but we have used e-mail to discuss family matters. He wants me to continue my studies when I join him later this year at his base after he returns and we become a full time family lol lol. We have a plan which includes childcare. One complication is a few times we forgot condoms and I don't use chemical birth control and he's REALLY potent lol lol. Anyway Jacob (our 12 month old) is going to have a baby brother or sister. Anyway, should I major in Chemistry or Physics along with Mathematics? I have a plan for child care that will allow me to attend a college near the base part time in the morning and early afternoon.

I have to admit that part of my decision needs to be based on what field offers better part time employment over a wider geographic area (ie over a multi state area of the United States or perhaps Germany or Korea) So farmy husband indicates that he wants to make the Army a career and that might entail moving a lot which I undertstand from reading literature that I receive and e-mailing other military wives in the Unit that relocating in a multi state area is a common occurence. Also, could I do research on my own in my garage on areas that interest me such as the nature of the gravitational attraction between objects if my family obligations preclude even a part time job? Are there laws restricting the use of chemicals or instrumentation in someones garage (in their own private lab) in a residential district?

Ok, what would be a better science to major in for a dual major with Math; Chemistry or Physics?
There is a math teacher retiring in my area, and I would like to apply for the position. Are there any suggestions that I could do (possibly before this summer when they post the opening) that would make me stand out from the other candidates?

*I have 4 years experience teaching secondary math full-time. I have taught up to Trig.

*I have currently been substitute teaching for the last 3 years at the school which I will be applying. Both the teachers and the students seem to enjoy me. For example, yesterday when I was subbing there, a student found out I had a math license and said "You should apply for so-and-so's job, she is retiring and I would for you to be our teacher."

*I have only taught to Trig, and this will most likely be for a pre-Calc/Calc position (along with some lower level math classes). Therefore I have enrolled in a Calc. class at the local college to brush up on those skills. (I have taken these classes before, and am familiar with the material, but it has been 10 years, so I thought a refresher would be good).

*This school encourages alternative learning (such as posters, group work, projects) rather than the traditional lecture-book work style. I love this type of learning and did these things in my classroom. My student teaching portfolio outlines these type of things I did in my class, although it is for a different state. Should I update my portfolio and modify it for this state's teaching competencies? Also, I have several examples of student projects left over from when I taught. Should I bring these things (to an interview) as an example of what I do in the classroom?

* Misc. info: This will be at the district that my children will go to, and the high school that both my husband and his father graduated from. While I am not from this area, my husband's family has been here for 3 generations, living off of land they purchased from their father's. Not that that is relevant for the job, but I feel it shows that we plan on being in the area for a long time and that we are a part of the community and have been for generations. Rather than (I use this word for lack of a better one) an "outsider" who is not an established person in the community. Would this be something that I should mention?

* This district was in danger of closing last year and did several cut backs. Many older teachers retired and they hired new younger teachers will less experience. So, I feel that the 4 years gives me more experience than someone fresh out of school, yet I am still fairly low on the pay scale.

So my question: Is there anything else I should do (it would have to be before the position opens...which I think will be sometime this summer) to make me stand out?

If you were hiring, what would you look for in a secondary math teacher?
Follow please. Ok Gov. Palin is stupid, but that would mean about 45 other govs would be also as they wouldn't know. Or just cause PE Obama is a friend of Tony Rezco he is a crook, although 11 of the 14 housing developments were in his district that doesn't make him a crook by association. Then the name thing, just cause it sound funny to some doesn't make him a Muslim. and the stuff said about poor ole Hillary.

I remember one election a while back they (media) asked the candidates who was who and one candidate didn't know the leader of some country. I mean who is the prime minister of aruba, we should know who is in charge and write to find that young lady.

The media knows what they are doing and if I was asked who the leader of Turkmakstan is I would tell them I may be president and will have a full time historian to answer than, same with the legal question, which attorneys will know or kids studing it in school or college.

But for me the stupiest thing was that if someone drills for oil it would not come on line until TEN years. I got friends with Wilcox wells and they have them come in run the seismic, have the geologist study, then pull a rig in and drill, in the mean time set up the oil tanks and have it all done in less than three months. Some have royalty in 18,500 foot Cotton valley wells and it's not the old wooden deal, they drill and finish in no time. They do have to set the concrete and depending on the bottom hole pressure, may have to frak the pay zone, but still it is done in a short time.

I did contact several of the news programs and CNN and FOX did have a person that knew something and stated it would take about a year up there. But ten years is like saying if you plant corn you will not have any for seven years or the same with planting flowers. I see on here people make the statement "that it will be ten years before we see any oil' and they mean it. i just wonder why no one has come out and debunked it. So that is the nuttiset thing I heard this year and what is yours.

You do find an area, run the seismic and then buy the leases and then cure the title and then drill.

now that i think abot it I thnk someone did say a third party candidate was like a martian or space person.Interesting, glad your hubbyy works on a rig, so you know the score. Thanks for reading it.Yea the church deal was and not hearing it wa weak, but they say his wife made him go there. There was the Ayers thing. Both at Columbia, both moved to chicago same time, Ayers wife secretary of SDS.

What do you think was the worst campaign 'untruth" during this election?
Ok, so I tried out for this club team.
Both It's national teams and regional teams in all age divisions consistently place(in nationals and regionals). Its one of the better clubs in the state.
The day of tryouts I was sick. So, I wasn't on my best game anyway. I was competing against players from my area (first team all conference, all-area, & all-district), that were also on the state ohhh final eight, final 16, etc. teams.
My school is itty-bitty, unrecognized by alot of the girls trying out.. and all that. lol

I honestly thought I had a chance to make a team since there was only 3 middles trying out.(for two teams)
One of the coaches pulled me aside twice to help me with quick middle hits. (didn't pull anyone else aside). Why would he do that If he didnt think I would be a good fit?

I was considering emailing the club director & seeing if somehow I could still be on the team. How I need their well-certified instruction and practice to be able to play for the college I'm talking to(unfortunately wanting freshman impact players, & im not quite at the level yet.)B/c I don't see how me paying that large fee, and not expecting playing time right off would hurt the club.

Its dumb... Isn't it.
Ahhhh. I'm just really bummed.* wouldn't it be dumb for me to email him?

haha i might not have made that clear with all my ranting.lol

this would be dumb wouldn't it?
Hello there.
I am currently a first-semester senior at a small magnet school in the South. Perhaps someone could give me some insight as to how competitive I am regarding scholarship money within the TN State school system (i.e. UTK, MTSU, TTU, etc.), as well as competitiveness for other, more prestigious schools (such as Vanderbilt, Harvard, etc.) Here are a few 'stats:'

ACT (30) (29)
English (35) (35)
Math (25) (26)
Reading (32) (26)
Science (28) (30)

SAT (1980)
M (540)
V (690)
W (750)

I am, without a doubt, retaking both of these tests in the near future, in hopes that I will score better.

3.93 GPA (unweighted) with challenging courses in high school (e.g. Honors, 3 AP Courses)

What do you think?
I am certainly extremely confused about college right now - it basically has taken up the entire capacity of my brain for the past few months, and it likely will do the same until May 1, when at last a decision is made.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you!

College Help, Please. :)?
What is the name of the career? Pharmacists
What type of work is done in this career? Pharmacists give medicine to people when a doctor says that they need it. They tell people how to use the medicine correctly. Pharmacists are experts in medicine and its side effects.
What personal qualities and abilities are needed for success in this career? “To be a good pharmacist, you should have a good memory and enjoy learning about new medicines and treatments. You should also be trustworthy and detail-oriented and have good communication skills. Also, you should have good problem solving abilities to help or guide patients through proper medication regiment/treatment."

What are the educational requirements? High School Graduation, four years of college, etc?
Pharmacists must earn a Pharm.D. Degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy. The Pharm.D. Degree has replaced the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, which is no longer being awarded. To be admitted to a Pharm.D. Program, an applicant must have completed at least 2 years of postsecondary study, although most applicants have completed 3 or more years. Other entry requirements usually include courses in mathematics and natural sciences, such as chemistry, biology, and physics, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.

Is licensure, certification, or registration required? A license to practice pharmacy is required in all states. To obtain a license, a prospective pharmacist must graduate from a college of pharmacy that is accredited by the ACPE and pass a series of examinations.

What are the working conditions? Pharmacists work in clean, well-lighted, and well-ventilated areas. Many pharmacists spend most of their workday on their feet. When working with sterile or dangerous pharmaceutical products, pharmacists wear gloves, masks, and other protective equipment.

Are there advancement opportunities? In community drug stores, pharmacists usually begin at the staff level. When they gain experience and money, some become owners or part owners. Some pharmacists who become owners get their master's degree in business administration (MBA). Pharmacists in chain drug stores may advance to supervisor or store manager. They may also become district or regional managers. Hospital pharmacists may advance to supervisory or administrative jobs.

really good career hu?
Before being elected to the Illinois state Senate, Obama worked as a community organizer and a lawyer in Chicago.

In his memoir, Obama says being a community organizer taught him how to motivate the powerless and work the government to help them. His chief example is an effort to remove asbestos from Altgeld Gardens, an all-black public housing project on Chicago’s South Side.

But those who were involved in the effort say Obama played a minor role in working the problem and never accomplished his goal. “Was [Obama] involved in stuff? Absolutely,” says Robert Ginsburg, an activist who worked with Obama on the problem. “But there was stuff happening before him, and after him.”

After three years working as an organizer, Obama could say he helped obtain grants for a jobs program and got asbestos removed from some pipes in the project. But as the Los Angeles Times has noted, the “large-scale change that was needed at the 1,998-unit project was beyond his reach.” To this day, most of the asbestos remains in the apartments.

Fruitless though his efforts were, Obama devoted more than 100 pages to his experiences at Altgeld Gardens and surrounding areas. Michelle Obama has said his work as a community organizer helped him decide “how he would impact the world,” assisting people to improve their lives. Yet, in a revealing passage in his book, Obama wrote, “When classmates in college asked me just what it was that a community organizer did, I couldn’t answer them directly.”

Instead, he said, “I’d pronounce on the need for change. Change in the White House, where Reagan and his minions were carrying on their dirty deeds. Change in the congress, compliant and corrupt. Change in the mood of the country, manic and self-absorbed. Change won’t come from the top, I would say. Change will come from a mobilized grass roots.”

Thus, Obama admitted that he accomplished little but that he was able to cover that up with fancy talk about change.

After going to Harvard Law School, Obama returned to Chicago, where he briefly headed a voter registration drive and then became a lawyer. While Obama’s campaign has touted him as a civil rights lawyer, “Over the nine years that Obama’s law license was active in Illinois, he never handled a trial and mostly worked in teams of lawyers who drew up briefs and contracts in a variety of cases,” according to David Mendell’s “Obama: From Promise To Power.”

A review of the cases Obama worked on during his brief legal career “shows he played the strong, silent type in court, introducing himself and his client, then stepping aside to let other lawyers do the talking,” the Chicago Sun-Times has reported.

“A search of all the cases in Cook County Circuit Court in which Obama made an appearance since he graduated from Harvard in 1991 shows: zero,” the article said.

Instead, his practice was “confined mainly to federal court in Chicago, where he made formal appearances in only five district court cases and another five in cases before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals — a total of 10 cases in his legal career,” the paper said.

If Obama had virtually no impact as either a community organizer or as a lawyer, he was even more invisible in the state Senate and later in the U.S. Senate.

In both bodies, Obama had a reputation for voting “present,” thus avoiding controversial decisions that could be used against him later. In the U.S. Senate, he has missed more than one in five votes.

Only one of the measures Obama has sponsored as a U.S. senator was enacted: a bill to “promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.”

Contrary to Obama’s portrayal of himself as a unifier, on every bipartisan effort in the Senate to forge compromises on tough issues, Obama has been missing in action.

In sum, it would be difficult to imagine a more mediocre record. Most candidates for dog catcher have contributed more to society. Yet with the help of adoring reporters, Obama has managed to parlay extraordinary speaking and political skills into a presidential campaign built on sand.

The idea that America might entrust its security and future to someone who has never demonstrated an ability to get anything of significance done is scary.

who is the best guitar player of all time living or dead?
Hi, there are several web sites which says in "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy", the rock band Survivor is praised. Today I watched the movie and did not that kind of praise.

Why is that?

"Survivor emerged into popular culture once again on the soundtrack album to the film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2005). Burgundy states that he believes Survivor is “the best that ever was” and that “everyone else is an imitator” including The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bach, and Beethoven. He then goes on to point out that Survivor won’t return his calls, which he understands because “They’re Survivor and I’m not.” He then introduces Who’s That Lady by The Isley Brothers with the line “It’s not Survivor, but it’ll have to do

ALDS
New York Yankees (101-61)
vs.
Texas Rangers (90-73)
The Scoop: Rangers surprised a LOT of people this year (including me) and I think it will continue here. If you look at the past few years it almost looks like the "Curse of the Bambino" has transferred to the Yankees. The Yankees haven't won a series in the playoffs since 2004. The same year the Red Sox won it. Rangers in 5.

Los Angeles Angels (95-67)
vs.
Detroit Tigers (92-70)
The Scoop: Pitching conquers hitting in the playoffs, and that would be the Tigers in this case. Even though the Angels offense would crush the Tigers offense this year, The Tigers pitching has been far superior this year, and when it comes down to a 5 game series I'd take Verlander (3.29 ERA), Jackson (2.85), Washburn (3.18), Porcello (4.21) and Gallaraga (5.16) over Weaver (3.89 ERA), Lackey (4.00), Sullivan (5.91), Santana (6.25) and Bell (5.91). Tigers in 4.

NLDS
Colorado Rockies (96-67)
vs.
Philadelphia Phillies (90-72)
The Scoop: As you saw with the Rangers, I like Cinderella story's. The Phillies have too much experience. Their the defending champs, and they won't go down easy. Phillies in 3.

St. Louis Cardinals (94-68)
vs.
Los Angeles Dodgers (95-68)
The Scoop: Manny Ramirez is a man on a mission... well, at least a man running out of time! Cardinals are a team run mostly on the raw power of Albert Pujols, and that doesn't work in the playoffs. Even though the Cards have been rocking the Dodgers this season, I think it'll be a different story in the playoffs. Dodgers in 5.

ALCS
Detroit Tigers (95-71)
vs.
Texas Rangers (93-75)
The Scoop: The Tigers have dominated the Rangers in the season series at 7-2. The combined score has been 56-32! Not to mention, the two Detroit losses came by their worst pitcher and by a pitcher who was subsequently traded for Jarrod Washburn! In the Cardinals case the reason I had that turn around in the playoffs was because the Cardinals are a 1 man team. The Rangers arn't. Therefore... Tigers in 5.

NLCS
Philadelphia Phillies (93-72)
vs.
Los Angeles Dodgers (98-70)
The Scoop: The Phillies are not as good as last year. The Dodgers are better. Manny Ramirez will lead his team to a world series berth. This is somewhat a hunch, but... Dodgers in 7.

WORLD SERIES
Detroit Tigers (99-72)
vs.
Los Angeles Dodgers (102-73)
The Scoop: In past years, most winners of the World Series have lost before they won. If you look at each teams current 25 man roster, these are the players that have been to a World Series (minimum 10 games for pitchers, 35 games for position players)...

Tigers...
SP Edwin Jackson (2008 Rays)
SP Justin Verlander (2006 Tigers)
SP Jarrod Washburn (2002 Angels)
SP/RP Zach Miner (2006 Tigers)
RP Bobby Seay (2006 Tigers)
CP Fernando Rodney (2006 Tigers)

2B Placido Polanco (2006 Tigers)
3B Brandon Inge (2006 Tigers)

Whatcha think and what are yours?

Heading into the final stretch of the season, what are your final predictions?
Ten points for most correct answers
Angels/Jays
Yankees/Red Sox
Cubs/Dodgers
Orioles/White Sox
D-Backs/Astros
Mariners/Indians
Reds/Pirates
Brewers/Nationals
Rangers/Rays
Twins/Royals
Phillies/Mets
Marlins/Braves
Giants/Rockies
Tigers/A's
Cards/Padres

Tie breaker: How many total runs will be scored in the Giants/Rockies game?

Who will win today's games?
Here are mine (You don't have to provide and explanation if you want to do it quickly):

NL East: Phillies - Even if they start to trip at the finish line, they still have two seires with the Nationals and Mets each.

NL Centrral: Cardinals - I think with the moves for DeRosa, Holliday, and Lugo, they've really made themselves a world series contender. Smoltz may even find his niche in relief somewhere.

NL West: Dodgers - This was tough. There schedule for the rest of the season is hot and cold. They face many weak teams such as the Pirates and Nats, but also play tough divisional oppenents as well, the Rockies and Giants. In the end I think they'll pull it out.

NL Wildcard: Giants- This was also tough. Both teams, the Rockies and the Giants have very tough schedules (The former having a slightly tougher one). However, the Giants pitching I think will be too much. Also Freddy Sanchez should start to pay off.

AL East: Yankees - Easy choice, best record in majors and not turning back most likely.

AL Central: White Sox - I have to go with the Sox to pull it out at the end. The Tigers made one of the biggest moves at the deadline when getting Washburn and he hasn't payed off with the exception of one of his four starts. His last start he gave up 4 homers. I think he'll help the Tigers tank every 5 days.

AL West: Angels - Gotta go with the Angels. Batting about .290 as a team. Amazing. I actually saw one box score where all their starters had a .300 average at the end of the game.

AL Wildcard: Rangers - It came down to the Red Sox, Rangers, and Rays. I picked the Rangers because they have an insanely easier schedule than the other two teams.

Fun bit o' info: The Phillies pitchers were flat out incredible in the D-Backs series. Here is why:

1. All winning pitchers had two hits each.
2. A combined 5 pitchers gave up 5 runs (4 earned) in the 3 games.
3. Last but not least, there was not a single walk given up by the Phillies in the three games.I apologize for being so long winded.@Fungo - I hope that's not sarcasm I hear.

What does your playoff bracket look like?
Is it because their pitching is more awesomer than yours? Is it because they're offense is clutch and very productive compared to yours? Haha!!!! SF Giants 2009 World Series Champions!!! I really don't see any team beating us even the screwed up Mannywoods. Watch, the score today will be Giants 15, Phillies 0. Zito will strikeout 18 and pitch a 80 pitch complete game!!! PHILLIES SUCK, DODGERS SUCK, CUBS SUCK, CARDINALS SUCK, AND GIANTS RULE!!!! Pablo "The Panda" will win MVP and Lincecum and Cain will be co Cy Young winners. Sandoval will win NLCS and World series MVP. So who's the team to beat now huh?

Why is it the Giants are the team to beat in the MLB?
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tampa Bay Rays

Oakland Athletics vs. Boston Red Sox

Cleveland Indians vs. Chicago White Sox

Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels

Cincinnati Reds vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets

New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins

Who will win these MLB baseball games? Also what will the score be?
Mine are:

AL EAST
Boston Red Sox 102-60 (PLAYOFFS)
New York Yankees 90-72 (WILDCARD)
Tampa Bay Rays 84-78
Toronto Blue Jays 81-81
Baltimore Orioles 61-101

AL CENTRAL
Detroit Tigers 86-77 (PLAYOFFS)
Chicago White Sox 85-79
Minnesota Twins 80-82
Cleveland Indians 71-91
Kansas City Royals 70-92

AL WEST
Texas Rangers 91-71 (PLAYOFFS)
Los Angeles Angels 81-81
Seattle Mariners 73-89

Houston Astros 62-100

NL WEST
Los Angeles Dodgers 99-63 (PLAYOFFS)
Colorodo Rockies 90-73 (WILDCARD)
San Diego Padres 83-79
Arizona Diamondbacks 80-82
San Francisco Giants 73-89

ALDS
Boston Red Sox (102-60)
vs.
Detroit Tigers (86-77)
The Scoop: In 2006, how were the tigers expected to do? terribly. what did the tigers do in the begining of the season? win. How were the tigers expected to play before this season? terribly. What have they done so far? win. In 2006, who expected the Tigers to beat the Yankees in the ALDS? No one. Who won the 2006 ALDS? The Tigers. Who would you expect to win this series? The Red Sox. Who will win this series? Tigers in 5.

Texas Rangers (91-71)
vs.
New York Yankees (90-72)
The Scoop: In recent years the Yankees have choked in the playoffs. I think the Texas high power offense will be able to shut down the yanks decent pitching and the Ranger pitching will survive the yankees offense. Rangers in 5.

NLDS
Los Angeles Dodgers (99-63)
vs.
Chicago Cubs (90-72)
The Scoop: The Cubbies are due for one. It won't be easy though. Cubs in 5.

New York Mets (95-67)
vs.
Colorado Rockies (90-73)
The Scoop: The Rockies had a magical season a few years ago. it's not their year this time. Mets in 3.

ALCS
Detroit Tigers (89-79)
vs.
Texas Rangers (94-73)
The Scoop: So far this year the Tigers have had the Rangers number beating them in the season series 6-0, the combined score of these games has been 38-15. I doubt this will change much. Tigers in 5.

NLCS
New York Mets (98-67)
vs.
Chicago Cubs (93-74)
The Scoop: The Cubs will be mad as hell from their countless failures. I think it'll motivate them. Cubs in 7.

WORLD SERIES
Detroit Tigers (93-80)
vs.
Chicago Cubs (97-77)
The Scoop: When you look at past series' the winning team usually has lost one before winning it all. The Cubs have surrounded the series but never been there, the Tigers, however, have. This shows what I mean...

Tigers players (on their 40 man roster) who have been in the World Series before...

- Jeremy Bonderman (2006 Tigers)
- Edwin Jackson (2008 Rays)
- Zach Miner (2006 Tigers)
- Nate Robertson (2006 Tigers)
- Fernando Rodney (2006 Tigers)
- Bobby Seay (2006 Tigers)
- Justin Verlander (2006 Tigers)
- Dontrelle Willis (2003 Marlins)
- Joel Zumaya (2006 Tigers)
- Miguel Cabrera (2003 Marlins)
- Adam Everett (2005 Astros)
- Brandon Inge (2006 Tigers)
- Placido Polanco (2006 Tigers)
- Ramon Santiago (2006 Tigers)
- Curtis Granderson (2006 Tigers)
- Carlos Guillen (2006 Tigers)
- Magglio Ordonez (2006 Tigers)
- Marcus Thames (2006 Tigers)

That totals 18 people with 18 championships!

The Cubs would loo like this...
- Neal Cotts (2005 White Sox)
- Chad Fox (2003 Marlins)
- Ted Lilly (2000 Yankees, 2001 Yankees)
- Derrick Lee (2003 Marlins)
- Aaron Miles (2006 Cardinals)
- Alfonso Soriano (1999 Yankees, 2000 Yankees, 2001 Yankees)

that totals 6 people with 9 championships.

It's the Tigers time. Tigers in 6.

WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS...... DETROIT TIGERS (97-82)!!!!

Whatcha think???

Through about 65 games, what are your projected final standings?
mets-yankees--which team will win

red sox phillies--which team will win

dodgers-rangers----winner and final score of game...(tiebreaker pick)

must select before games start.

closest gets the 10 points.

who will win these 3 baseball games today ?
It's kind of ironic how this had turned out, because lots of people assumed it was the strongest in the NL and that there could be no way the NL East wouldn't take the Wild Card. To me, it's very weak, because each team has such glaring holes, whether it's the Mets lack of chemistry and sloppy play, the Phillies horrible starting rotation, extremely questionable closer and below average middle relievers, the Marlins bullpen or lack of discipline at the plate or the Braves inability to score or play consistently. I don't think the Marlins got a shot at this division, judging from how poorly they've played, but the Braves actually are in striking distance and look like they might have a chance. I'd be suprised, from the looks of it right now, if the division winner wins more than 86 games. The NL West seems weak too, but the Dodgers are really taking over that division.Yeah, but the NL East appears to be a bunch of average teams. Being the defending world champs is worthless, if you can't have more than half your rotation give quality starts. It's not even like every other time out either, it's like nearly every start. The Mets probably are just as talented, if not more than the Phillies, but their confidence is shot, the manager is and has appeared to lose his team's respect and they look like a mess. The Marlins and Braves are pretty much average clubs at best, but the Braves look to have deeper pitching with more experience. Add a couple of pieces to that roster and they could take the division. I get what you're saying with the Dodgers though. I'm suprised the D'Backs are playing this poorly, even if Webb is out. LA obviously owns that division, with or without Manny, but I think the NL Central is the most competitive division in the NL and arguably the second most to the AL East, especially since the Cubs haven't turned it on yet.

Is the NL East the weakest division in the National League?
Los Angeles Angels vs. Texas Rangers

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Florida Marlins

Colorado Rockies vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Washington Nationals

Oakland Athletics vs. Detroit Tigers

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Atlanta Braves

but unfortunately i have some problems.
with the movies and book.
lol
but i really did like it.
none oy'all get mad cause im just expressing my opinions in a nice way. :]
soo on the movie i really don't like how bella gasps after every sentence.
and in the book (especially midnight sun) it keeps talking about hoe unselfish she is. i mean i get it and every thing, but thanks for continually slapping me in the face with it. and how she calls mike a golden retriever. its kinda odd you would compare a boy (that happens to like you) to a dog. it seems like he is far from those sex driven freaks we come into contact with now days. lol. i mean i understand how golden retrivers are so nice and stay by your side and everything but in my opinion its kinda rude.

but all critics say something good. i love twilight. (is it wrong to love something that wont love you bacK?? *shrug* whateverr. )
the plots good and everything.

star if you like this joke....really funny?
A good friend of my parents has had a hard time keeping jobs. He has lived all over the country wherever his job takes his. At one point and time, he lived next to us and was our neighbor. About three months ago in July he found a job about 5 minutes from my house. However, he currently lived about 3-4 hours away (i think, I dont know) with his wife.

Well this friend didn't have a place to stay while he was at his job here, so he asked if he could stay with us. It was fine for a few weeks but now after 3 months i am fed up. He did at one time try to get an apartment, but it didnt work out. Thats fine, but my question is why didn't he just try to find another one? Also, some times his wife (also a good friend) comes down for the weekend, and once they brought their son and his dog, which made it hard for my dog because they didn't want to get along.

My parents have been fine. They let them bring their son and his dog. The reason I'm mad is because its just awkward. Every time I have friends over their always like "who is that guy?!" and i tell them how hes just staying with us but they see him again 2 weeks later and i tell them the whole story. He tries to be nice and thats fine but he trys to be like how was ur day just like he always lived with us and sorta be fatherly and its really annoying

he also compleatly ruined our downstairs bathroom and my game room. Before he moved in, i spent lots of money on furniture, lighting, and other stuff because i was going to turn an unused room into a game room. this was before i knew he was coming. i havent been able to use it since because its "mikes room" according to my parents. Now the bathroom and game room smell strongly of deodorant soap. The smell is overwhelming and all my friends are always like why does it smell in there whenever I have a party.

I havent talked to my parents at all about this. I don't know if he helps pay any of the bills or if he as offered. the whole deal is that until his wife sells their house about 4 hours away, he will stay with us (unless he finds another place to live....yea right) with the economy the way it is, it could be years until they sell their house.

I dont want to sound like a spoiled brat, but i think its incredibly insensitive to just think someone will let you stay with them for this long. we didn't know it was going to be 3 months. my parents seem fine, but i have talked with my grandma and she feels the same way as me. 3 months is too long.

I guess what I am asking for is your opinion and some ways to bring this up to my parents. It is so annoying him being here for 3 months (actually its closer to 4)

and all he ever does is lay on the couch and watch tv when he gets home. he buys a bottle of wine every now and then, but thats not good enough in my opinion, when he is using our water, our electricity, and living under our roof in an economy like this. I think my parents don't care because they know him so well, but i've never been fond of him. He asks questions he knows the answers to (which sort of makes him look like an idiot) and he is overweight and walks around in a pair of short-shorts and a tshirt, which doesnt exactly cover it up. its also just annoying caus he slurps everything he eats (soup, even YOGURT!)

thanks for reading this!

in case u wanted to know i am a 14 year old guy

Who are the following monsters.....?
I am a true falcon fan and hope to see MIKE return. I wont say the things he done was right but lets be real the man makes money and the NFL misses that xxxxtra money. Dogs are animals in my eyes and there is no difference in shooting a dear or eating your family farm pig. I cant stand people to say he should go to HELL and DIE for what he did or He is not a role model cause he fought dogs. Did we forget DOG and Chicken fights were very common just less than 100 yrs ago. We see on TV everyday people shooting BAMBI and CUT the head off and stick it on the WALL so what makes that right ? A dog is not an animal such as a deer ? I think the PEOPLE who think VICK should go to hell and never return are just upset racist who was MAD he had more money throwing a football than they can make going to work a 9-5 everyday.

VICK BACK IN 2009 MAYBE FALCONS ?
So i'm in the air force. My wife decided she also wanted to join the air force. However i got deployed and now she leaves for basic in two weeks. Out of nowhere she started saying that her feelings for me have changed and she wants a divorce. It all started happening after she kissed a girl and i got mad. Then she had my friend sleep in my bed with her (i don't know if anything happened there or not), and then she started lying to me about everything. So i got mad, and shut off her cell phone which is in my name and i pay for. Then i told her i'm going to take the cars away (both in my name, i pay for them because she doesn't have a job). She was super mad at me and that's when she started saying that everything is my fault and i'm trying to cut her out of everything and now she wants a divorce for sure. She came back from her vacation yesterday and sent me an email. Here they are:

hey, i just wanted to let you know that i got back okay yesterday. the dogs didnt really recognize me at first. it might've been also cause i cut my hair. but they're doing good. they were well taken care of. blue is bigger, weight wise, he looks good and sable looks good too. im gonna try to close the wamu account today (our joint bank account but my paycheck don't go there) so we dont have to worry about it. i think that's all, oh, and did you know that mike ( my friend, i told him he could use the car (my car)) took my car to some place like 2 or 3 hours away from here to take it camping when he has his own vehicles? i found a little grill in the trunck when i was putting my luggage in there yesterday, im not too happy about it. he put quite a bit of miles on it. but oh well i guess. but yea, im here now in one piece.

My reply was: So do you still want to give the dogs away and do you still want a divorce?

Her reply:

im gonna try to find someone who wants both dogs. i dont think its right to keep the dogs as a bourdon to jessie( our roommate) he is thinking about moving after his lease is up in novembre. so, i'll pack your stuff up before i leave, but you are probably gonna have to find someone to pick it up and store it. i'll just pack what is mine (clothes, pix of my fam, computer, and dvd player) umm...i had a meeting today with my recuiter and his boss and they said that it would be best to hold of the divorce process untill i get out of basic because it would hurt me if i have a civil lawsuit opened on my records. i hope that answers your question. thanks for putting that money there, but i really dont need it. but i guess if something comes up, i'll use it. i really dont care anymore about the usaa account. im really wasnt using it to begin with i guess. but yea, that'll be one of the things we take care of when you get back. im going to start organizing all the stuff. and when i figure out where to keep the important documents, i'll let you know where they are.

Do you guys think she'll regret her decisions (possibly in basic training wwhen she's all stressed) and come back to me? Or is this kind of thing something that a marriage can't recover from? What do you guys think?

Asses my divorce situation please and provide feedback (LONG)?
